I have recently ordered something online from ikea and there email tells me to call them at this number:

1-800-434-IKEA

Now that would be ok if mabey it was back in the 20th century, we are almost a decade from that day, and people still expect everyone have on their phone the traditional alpha to number logic.

I have a blackberry that i use so it is rather obvious that it wont work i will be dialing:

1-800-434-361?

instead of the intended

1-800-434-4532

What makes things worse is that they expect me to remember the special number 434 first before knowing how to tanslate the digits.. i should have been there at the time when they went throught the trouble to getting an 800 number i would come up with something like:
1-800-GO4IKEA
1-800-BUYIKEA

or what ever.. the alphabet thing has not been the first time that i was not able to contact someone without having to hunt down a traditional phone.

vim and debugging php

xdebug, is something all vim users should know about if they are developing with php. for all the years i used to debug with the simple 'echo' statement, mostly because i knew the code and it wasn't so complex.

If you follow the 'interactive directions' on xdebug you will find a nice tutorial

I am not sure how i debugged php code without it.

New blog location

Well, i really never had a solid location for where i blog about so this is really the 'first' blog location that is official.

You will see here my thoughts as i develop things, and usually will revolve around php, mysql, and some mail issues. There may be times where it is just something worthy to note about.

I have to thank itrebal for getting me the spot to put this at and not have to worry about installing and deciding on what software i will use.
